To Do List for When I am Dead

I am making a to do list for Loni and Mina to take care of after I die.
  • They are to burn my beautiful new journal Mina gave me for Valentine's Day because it will be full of things for my eyes only.
  • They are to make sure that Pastor D officiates at my memorial and if he is not available then there is to be no memorial or a memorial where only friends speak and no Pastor.
  • There is a box I have to locate that will need to be destroyed, it is full of some bizarre paperwork from a case some of us worked on years ago.  Raymond wanted me to get rid of it long ago, but I haven't been able to find where I put it.  It isn't that it is pornographic or anything, but I wouldn't want someone to think it was mine.
  • There is one person Loni is to notify personally as soon as possible.
  • Loni has already been told what to do with my quilting items.
There will be more items added to the list as I think of them. |
To my knowledge I am not ill and dying, but it is never bad to have a plan.  My boys really would have no idea how to handle anything at this stage of their life, so I need backup.

Hopefully when my time comes we will all be so old none of this matters, but just in case, I want a plan.

What Makes Women Special

Their ability to bond and be there for each other.

Loni, Mina, Jill and I went to lunch today to celebrate Loni's birthday.  Jill and I have discovered we really like splitting a meal so we shared a delicious salad.  Loni and Mina split their lunch and cheesecake.  Jill and I were too full for cheesecake.  It was a great lunch with fabulous conversation.

At one point of the meal Jill looked at me and said something about all the topics of discussion for the lunch. As I am sitting here thinking about it again, I am laughing all over again.  Here are some of the topics from lunch:
  •  Balls, as in the kind that belong to the male species.(Started with why a couple in Mina's neighborhood did not know their dog wasn't neutered.
  • Why we can never make our hair look the way the stylist fixes it.
  • The latest antics of my boys.
  • Massages (I'm the only one of the four that does not enjoy a massage)
  • Colors of nail polish, and our personal favorites
  • Husbands
  • Travel
  • My affinity for really old and ratty clothes
  • Latest update on Jill's son and his girlfriend
  • 100's of other items that were interspersed among the above discussions.
Add to that the underlying comments about each of us and it makes for a very fun afternoon.

The four of us make a great combination when we are together.  Jill and Mina are so much alike I swear they must share DNA.  Loni and I are the more practical side of the group.  I can't wait until the next get together.

Friday Night Date Night

L & M were kind enough to invite Mamma C to dinner tonight and M's hubby S was there.

We went to Olive Garden and I had a delightful time catching up with M and S. L and I pretty much caught up on Survivor night.

We realized while talking that M will not be able to bake the cookies for Trunk or Treat like she did last year so L and I will have to do that on Survivor night. That will be something we haven't done before, but I have a double oven so it should go quick.

I enjoy being with the girls. They are so kind to me. They never make me feel like a third wheel, and there are always lots of laughs.
