Time Flies

I have neglected this blog.  Certainly not on purpose, but mostly because life has just been flying by the last year.

The oldest received his Master's in May, 2014 and the youngest received his Bachelor's the same week.

The youngest started working on his Master's in August, 2014.

In September, 2014 I went on a cruise with one of my adopted daughter's to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

The oldest married in October, 2014.

2014 seemed to end in a blur with the holidays and work.

So far in 2015 I have finished the second phase of a big project at work.

My youngest adopted daughter received her Master's in May, 2015.

I have just returned from wonderful trip to Bella Vista, Arkansas.  I fished every day but one, I didn't catch enough fish, but I was relaxed and enjoyed being on the lake.

I am in the process of rearranging parts of the house and doing a huge clean up of old items.

Life is good.

Vacation TIme Again

I have the week off and I started my vacation by having breakfast out with Loni and my youngest at Mimi's (one free breakfast coupon) and then we all went to see Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows.

And to answer my oldest's question, yes I enjoy the story as well as Robert Downey, Jr., but since we are still in the Christmas season:

After the movie we went to Fabric Fanatics for their sale and so I could use a gift certificate I had since Mother's Day.  I was able to get the backing for two upcoming projects and some turtle fabrics they had in the sale room.

A lunch of leftovers with Loni and then she went home and I took a long nap.

Right now I am catching up on emails and listening to the youngest laugh with all the boys.  Everyone is here except the oldest, who is off visiting with his girlfriend for a couple of days.

I think the rest of the night will involve some reading and watching reruns of shows from years ago.

It has been a good start to my winter vacation!

10 Days

I am officially on vacation and have 10 full days ahead of me that I rule.

I plan to only do what I want to do.
So far my plans include:
  • Finishing a quilt
  • Quilting on another quilt
  • Having dinner Monday night with J & G
  • Baking barbecue buns for Thanksgiving dinner
  • Spending lots and lots of time with my boys or boy
  • Reading
  • Making a list of gifts I plan on giving this holiday season
I am going to start my vacation tomorrow morning by visiting with a friend.
Woohoo!

Back to Work Tomorrow

I have been off work since December 23.  Tomorrow I go back.

It has been a wonderful, relaxing vacation, especially with the help of my elves.  I haven't had to leave the house more than a couple of times, and even though I am sleeping on the couch and we only have one working shower, I wish I never had to leave the house except for days like today when I wanted to go to the movie.

I have been talking to myself about how to deal with the stress at work.  I have a strategy that should work, it is just a matter of implementing the plan.

Wish me luck.

Alaskan Cruise

I have always wanted to go to Alaska, but I wanted to drive.  Now it looks like I will be going, but it will be on a cruise, an extended family cruise.  The girls, hopefully both husbands, the boys, BFF and I are planning on going two years from now.

I have never, ever wanted to go on a cruise, but it will probably be the only way I will ever get to Alaska.

I have set the ground rules with L.  I don't want to do anything to get ready for it but be told what to take, and when to be where.

I am already getting a little anxious about not having a car so I can escape.  Which just brings up another anxiety.  If all of us are going, who is going to drive us to the airport?  My car only holds seven.  There will be eight of us.  See this is what will happen I will start obsessing, and we haven't even chosen the cruise yet.

I think I will go do laundry now.
