Happy New Year!

2012 is here. A New Year, and time to look back and reflect and then move forward.

I am having a lot of trouble with the looking back part right now.  Tomorrow would have been my 30th anniversary.  Jan. 2 is always hard on me, but this year it is even harder.

Dreams I had in the past of course cannot come true.  Regrets and doubts regarding decisions made have formed a large lump in my chest and are making it hard to get a good breath.

Some hopes I had for the future have changed, and I need to work through the knowledge that some things will just never ever be possible.

Time to make new dreams and push through all the things from the past.  All of that easier said than done.

I wish I wasn't a person of what ifs.

I know the new year will bring some amazing things into my life, just as 2011 did, and I will do my best to welcome each new challenge and change.

What Might 2011 Bring?

  1. Graduation for my youngest.
  2. Graduation for my oldest.
  3. I hope to learn new quilting techniques.
  4. Several quilting projects completed just for me.
  5. A more relaxed me.  I am working on dealing with the stress in my life.  Having a lovely "new" home is helping tremendously.

Happy New Year! 2011 is Here.

Happy New Year everyone.

I have decided that 2011 is going to be about accomplishments for me.

I am going to accomplish something at home every day in 2011.  Now some of this accomplishments will not be very big.  It may be that I just dust a table when I get home from work, but it will be better than me just coming home and flopping on the couch and never moving.

Also, quilting does not count as an accomplishment.  It must be a chore or task around the house.

I desperately need to clean out some closets and drawers.  In 2010 I purged my bookcases, and some furniture.  Now it is time to organize and purge cookbooks, toolboxes, etc.

I need to take inventory and see what needs to be replaced or removed from my kitchen.  With the new bathroom I need to purge some old towels and linens.

I will be posting my accomplishments for each week here so that I can hold myself accountable.

My wish for 2011 is that all my friends and family, and their loved ones stay healthy, happy, and feel much love.  In fact, I wish that for everyone in the whole world, but we know that isn't possible.
