My banks were always really short because my mom cut them herself and she would cut and cut on them until they were even. The process involved a lot of Dippity Dew and some kind of hair tape that she would plaster the bangs down with so she could get a straight cut, but if I moved my face at all the whole thing would turn in to a disaster. Then there were the little metal pin curl clips. Ahhh memories.
